The site is located on 17 acres of land, filled with trees and gardens. Farley Hill has a rich history and was visited by British royalty including King George V in 1879. One of the main attractions of Farley Hill Park is the ruins of the mansion of Sir Graham Briggs which was destroyed by fire in 1965; this mansion was used in the filming of the 1957 film classic “Island in the Sun”. Farley Hill Park provides a stunning few of the Atlantic coast and the hills of St. Andrew. It is also a favourite picnic spot for Barbadians. Farley Hill Park is also the location of many local entertainment events in Barbados. Farley Hill Park is maintained by the National Conservation Commission.
